3 Things I Use

Noticing a theme? I like naming thing after female characters from Greek mythology. Someday there will be a circe. Someday.

3.1 Machines

• bea-phone: Apple iPhone 15 running iOS 26.1
• bea-pi: Raspberry Pi 3B+ running Raspbian headlessly, used for JTAG and other hardware debugging
• aphrodite: 2025 Framework 12 running NixOS (config here)
• artemis: Dell Precision 5570 running Debian 13
• athena: Macbook Pro 2019 running Debian 13, hosting a workhorse server and a media server
• hestia: Lenovo ThinkCentre M700 mini-tower running Debian 13, hosting a proxy and this website
• areia: Digilent Arty-S7 FPGA development board, with a Xilinx Spartan-7 FPGA chip and 256MiB of DDR3L RAM

3.2 Tools

• catra: Flipper Zero used as a digital multitool and as a development platform for BEATRIX
• iphigenia: Aula F75 mechanical keyboard used with aphrodite
• cassandra: Raspberry Pi Debug Probe used for SWD and UART debugging

3.3 Implants

• entrapta: xG3 magnet implant between the thumb and forefinger of my left hand
• adora: NExTv2 NFC/RFID implant between the thumb and forefinger of my right hand

Both implants done personally by a friend.

3.4 Software

• Tailscale: VPN service used for secure access to all devices remotely
• Lighttpd: Web server used on pantheon to serve this site
• Jellyfin: Media server used on pantheon for my music
• OpenOCD: Debugging server used on bea-pi to communicate with the device being worked on
• Zotero: Reference and document manager used on aphrodite
• Zsh: Shell program used on aphrodite, in combination with Oh-My-Zsh

3.5 Languages

Work is currently underway on versions of this site in both my non-native languages. My notes and vocabulary flashcards for Russian are available on Github.

• English: Spoken natively - roughly General American, with some influences from growing up in south Texas
• French: Spoken at a B2 (conversational fluency) level - primarily Metropolitan French with some Quebecois influence
• Russian: Spoken at an A1 (beginner) level - primarily so-called “standard Russian”, though it’s quite early to tell
